This chunky crocheted cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up and is seamless.

Alternating rounds of stitches give the cowl a stacked rib look separated by dashes, hence the pattern's name. Also, it's a pretty quick project when made from bulky weight yarn and a great one to tackle before you gotta dash off somewhere. ;)

It can be made from any bulky weight yarn you wish. One skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in the shade Oatmeal was used to make the cowl in the photos.
